IJPB / Plant Observatory - Chemistry-Metabolism Platform

Technological platform

Description

The mission of the IJPB's OV-Chimie/Métabolisme platform is to offer quantification and characterisation of chemical compounds in plants: plant hormones, primary or specialised metabolites, as well as compounds derived from biomass. The platform serves the international community.

The OV-Chimie/Métabolisme platform is housed in ~400 m2 of laboratory space and includes equipment dedicated to the analysis of chemical compounds, backed up by an expert team capable of carrying out routines or developing new analysis methods.

The work currently being carried out and the projects under development focus on three thematic areas:
1. Metabolic profiling/analytical chemistry: analysis of primary and specialised plant metabolites using non-targeted metabolomics, quantification and identification of lipids and lipidomics using GC-MS, UPLC-MS/MS and LC-HRMS.
2. Biochemical analysis of cell wall polymers by GC-MS, LC-HRMS, HPAEC-PAD.
3. Signalling and plant hormones.

The analyses carried out by OV-Chimie/Métabolisme aim to support the introduction of new agricultural practices: reducing the use of phytosanitary products and inputs while maintaining the quality of agricultural products and production. OV-Chimie/Métabolisme is a member of the SMaCS consortium and in the second circle of the SC Metabohub infrastructure.
