Plateforme d'Imagerie Multiphotonique du Petit Animal (PIMPA)

Technological platform

Description

The main objective of the "PIMPA" small animal multiphoton imaging platform is to provide the scientific, academic and private communities with a state-of-the-art tool for non-linear optical imaging of small animals. The platform is located in building 440 of the Orsay campus in a P2 containment area and close to the IBAIC animal house. This platform is equipped with an instrumental device offering the possibility of combining confocal and biphotonic imaging of the whole animal. Thus configured, the device will have the specificity of bringing together different imaging modalities (spatial, temporal and spectral), a multimodality of major importance for in-vivo experiments. In addition, it will be able to acquire and reconstruct biological processes in three dimensions, in real time or at a later date, from the cellular to the tissue level.
