Description

Countless present and future technologies are based on nanoscale materials, structures and devices. These applications run the gamut of science, from photovoltaic solar cells, spintronic devices, biomedical implants, and nanoscale transistors, to the design of new microstructures and materials that can be processed "atom by atom".
While the design and fabrication of such systems is a feat in itself, the Interdisciplinary Multifunctional Atomic Force Microscopy Platform (IMFAFM) takes on the additional challenge of simultaneously mapping topographical, mechanical, chemical and electrical properties at the nanoscale.
