MIMA2 / Plateau de Chirurgie et Imagerie Médicale de l'Animal (CIMA)

Technological platform

Description

The Collective Scientific Infrastructure (ISC) for Microscopy and Imaging of Microorganisms, Animals and Food (MIMA2) is a platform of several INRA research units located at the INRA Ile-de-France-Jouy-en-Josas centre. It brings together complementary equipment offering the possibility of working from the nanoscopic scale to the whole animal, and on live or prepared samples.
Within this ISC, the CIMA platform (Animal Surgery and Medical Imaging) provides various in vivo imaging techniques using IDXA X-rays (osteodensitometry, quantification of fat and lean masses), Cellvizio fibrous confocal endomicroscopy (488 nm in vivo cell imaging) and ultrasound (conventional ultrasound and micro-ultrasound or high-resolution ultrasound).
The platform offers its know-how and its laboratory space for the samples that will be processed there (veterinary and surgical skills, blood analysis, possibility of working independently or as a service provider).
The platform offers the skills and IT resources for the transfer, storage and analysis of the data generated there. The platform has multidisciplinary scientific expertise: development of the embryo and its annexes, cardiology, tissue composition of biomedical or agronomic mammalian models. The structure is open to all external requests on all subjects of study within the limits of the capacity of its instruments and personnel.
The platform has been awarded the IBISA label and the INRAE Collective Scientific Infrastructure (ISC).
