Centre for Study on Globalisation, Conflicts, Territories and Vulnerabilities (CEMOTEV)

Research unit

Description

CEMOTEV's research perspectives for the five-year period 2015/2019 are part of theoretical and methodological orientations open to multidisciplinarity (mainly economics and geography), in the way of approaching the different themes of development and the environment, in particular. link with the actors (conflicts), with the geographical dimension (territories) and the choice of a dynamic approach (vulnerabilities / sustainability).

The aim is to strengthen research activities on diversity and the complexity of decision scales, particularly those related to globalization and sustainable development. CEMOTEV focuses on: the dimensions of temporalities, path dependencies, irreversibilities that shed light on hidden vulnerabilities, the territorial dimensions of economic and social processes, introduced by globalization, environmental and development issues, new articulations between the different levels of scales (global, continental, national and local) that they produce, as well as the conflicts generated.
