Unité mixte de physique CNRS/Thales (UMPhy)

Research unit

Description

UMPHY is a research unit of both CNRS and the Thalès corporation, which is associated with Université Paris-Sud. The research carried out at UMPHY is state of the art, with for instance the discovery of Giant Magnetoresistance in 1988 (2007 Nobel Prize), or the development of spintronics. The main research themes are nanoelectronics, microfabrication, high critical temperature supraconductors, and bio-inspired electronic circuits. Thanks to its state of the art technological platforms, UMPHY is a major contributor in the fileds with which it interacts.
