Systèmes de Culture Innovants sous Contraintes (UMR Agronomie)

Technological platform

Description

The experimental field evaluation of innovative cropping systems (SIC) aims to respond to different environmental and economic issues. Each of the four systems tested has been designed to meet specific objectives: an unconstrained system, a "zero pesticide" system, a system aiming to halve the amount of fossil energy consumed, a system aiming to halve the production of greenhouse gases (with the aim of limiting global warming). In addition, they will have to meet specified environmental targets and achieve the highest possible level of production. These cropping systems are inspired by regional practices (i.e. cereal production). This long-term experiment is located in Grignon. It has been conducted since 2008 in partnership with the AgroParisTech farm and the Versailles-Grignon arable farming unit. The objectives are: (i) to characterise the performance and identify the difficulties of running contrasting systems and (ii) to analyse the medium-term effects of the systems on the physical, chemical and biological components of the environment.
