Laboratoire Matière sous conditions extrêmes (LMCE)
Research unit
The Matière en Conditions Extrêmes laboratory brings together academic activities carried out at CEA-DAM Ile de France in different research fields: nuclear physics, condensed matter physics and plasma physics. One specific feature of the laboratory is to combine theory, experiments and simulations on high performance computers (HPC) for each study topic. The LMCE depends mainly on the Graduate School Physics for its academic work, but it is also attached to the Graduate School of Engineering and Systems Sciences for its work in the field of multiscale modeling and HPC simulation of materials, with approaches which find many echoes in the industrial field.
