Laboratoire de Génie Industriel
Research unit
Industrial Engineering is the science of diagnosing, modeling, simulation, design, operation and change management of the business systems of organizations (especially companies). The objects of the CentraleSupélec Industrial Engineering Laboratory (LGI) are therefore (1) product-service systems marketed by companies and (2) production or activity systems of companies.
These systems, and the resulting processes, are developed throughout their life cycle. It is about knowing how to observe, diagnose, design or improve, operate (operate, regulate, maintain) and recycle.
LGI's research covers the disciplines of design science, industrial engineering, automation, computer science, economics and management. The LGI (see its activity report) is organized into 4 research teams: (IC) Design Engineering, (MO) Operations Management, (SR) Safety and Risks, (ED) Sustainable Economy and 5 cross-industry themes and societal: mobility systems, energy systems, health systems, industry of the future, circular economy.
The laboratory also has strong links with industry, maintained by 10 industrial chairs.
