IJPB / Plant Observatory - Versailles Arabidopsis Biological Resource Centre (VASC- Versailles Arabidopsis Stock Centre)
Technological platform
The OV-Centre de Ressources Biologiques (CRB) Arabidopsis Versailles (VASC) collects, produces and characterises Arabidopsis thaliana plants with different genetic characteristics, such as natural variants or mutants. These resources are distributed to the scientific community.
The OV-VASC provides unique collections of mutants, making it possible to explore gene function. It also offers a vast diversity of natural variants collected from all over the world, as well as populations resulting from their crosses. These resources are a major lever for analysing the impact of natural diversity on complex plant traits such as growth, development, reproduction and stress tolerance.
Awarded the IBiSA label in 2023, the OV-VASC is a member of the RARe (Ressources Agronomiques pour la Recherche) National Research Infrastructure. Its commitment to high-quality collaboration is recognised by the ISO 9001 certification obtained in October 2024.
Seed stocks available for distribution include: 55,000 characterised T-DNA insertion lines (in the Ws gene pool), over 600 world natural accessions and 800 French natural accession families, 262 F2 mapping populations, 16 recombinant line populations (RILs), 3 quasi-isogenic line populations (HIFs), a panel of epigenetic recombinant lines (epiRILs), 56 cytolines, and a collection of homozygous EMS mutant lines (HEMs).
