HERMES

Technological platform

Description

HERMES is one of the light lines of the SOLEIL synchrotron, dedicated to X-ray microscopy. It is composed of two branches, each with a microscope: STXM (Scanning Transmission X-ray Microscopy) and X-PEEM (X-ray PhotoEmitted Electron Microscopy). Both microscopes are mainly dedicated to imaging and local spectroscopy at high resolution (<40nm) of materials: nanostructures, surfaces and interfaces, nanomagnetism, soft matter, biology.
