Biochem-Env is a scientific and technical platform focused on the development and measurement of biochemical indicators in the environment and organisms of continental ecosystems.
In the environment (soils and sediments), the platform enables the measurement of functional indicators (enzymatic activities involved in biogeochemical cycles, metabolism of macromolecules, overall metabolic activity, respiration, etc.). It also measures biochemical indicators in benthic and terrestrial invertebrates (energy reserves and macromolecules, oxidative stress, detoxification mechanisms, exposure to environmental contaminants, etc.).
Biochem-Env will provide the scientific community with open datasets on biological indicators related to the functional biodiversity of ecosystems. The information and knowledge obtained by the platform will allow the development of mathematical and modelling approaches to assess and predict the impacts of environmental disturbances on functional biodiversity.
