LUCIA (Line for Ultimate Characterization by Imaging and Absorption)

LUCIA is one of the light lines of the SOLEIL synchrotron. It is characterised by the production of a microbeam in the energy range 0.8-8 keV. The spatial stability of the photon spot over a wide spectral range allows the study of the distribution of elements by X-ray micro-fluorescence spectroscopy (µ-XRF) and the speciation of elements by X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XANES and EXAFS), in heterogeneous samples.
