The CERISES (Collision and Reaction of Ions Selected by Threshold Electrons) set-up is a unique experimental device for studying the elementary act of ion-molecule reactivity in a dilute medium. It is a tandem mass spectrometer, based on radiofrequency ion guides, which combines a source of ions based on photoionisation by synchrotron radiation with an analysis of their reactivity.
