BIOMAPS / PASREL / Imagerie préclinique et clinique, in vivo, IRM, 0.55 T (SHFJ)

Technological platform

Description

The 0.55T FreeMax MRI allows anatomical imaging of the head and neck, spine, thorax, abdomen, knees, elbows and shoulders.
The main advantage of this MRI is its low-field contrasts, making it possible to explore regions that are usually difficult to probe, such as those affected by heterogeneity due to magnetic susceptibility (lung, areas with magnetic implants).
Its large opening of 80 cm in diameter, compared with the usual 60 cm or 70 cm, means it can accommodate a wide range of patients, including those who are claustrophobic or overweight.
The low-field 0.55T MRI platform, reserved for clinical research, has the advantage of being able to accommodate cohorts during the day.
It is one of the SHFJ's clinical imaging platforms, backed up by the nuclear medicine department, and can be used for clinical examinations. The diversity of imagers on this platform facilitates multimodal studies (MRI, US, etc.).
